Cerafyna exists to support reflection and clarity — without replacing human judgment or agency.
Cerafyna began with a simple observation: most AI tools are designed to make us faster, more productive, more efficient. But what about the moments when we need to slow down?
We started building Cerafyna for people who want companionship without pressure, reflection without instruction, and conversation without judgment. Not as a replacement for therapy or human connection, but as a complement to the ways we already care for ourselves.
Our work is guided by a belief that technology can be gentle, boundaries can be clear, and AI can serve human needs without overpromising or undermining professional care.

To create ethical AI companions that support human reflection and well-being through clarity, transparency, and respect for boundaries. We aim to build technology that serves people without overpromising, replacing professional care, or exploiting vulnerability.
A future where AI thoughtfully complements human life—not by replacing connection or instruction, but by creating space for reflection, curiosity, and quiet companionship. Where technology knows its limits and respects the irreplaceable value of human care.
Technology should expand choices, not replace them.
Clear boundaries about what we are and what we are not.
We acknowledge the limits of Al in supporting human needs.
Reflection takes time. We do not optimize for urgency.
Our Team story
A serendipitous full-circle moment helped shape Cerafyna’s journey: In 2025, James first reached out to Stephen Whitehead with an early version of Cerafyna, and through Stephen’s guidance, the concept evolved into Cerafyna Technologies. Years earlier, Stephen had been one of James’s professors during his Postgraduate Certificate in Education (International) at Keele University, UK. Gavin Whitehead later joined James and Stephen as the third co-founder, bringing CEO-level business leadership and web development expertise—helping translate the mission into a practical, usable product. Together, their combined backgrounds create a strong synergy between reflective education, human understanding, ethical AI design, and real-world execution. The final members of the CT team are Constanza Fernández Arce (Chile) and Damla Topbas (Turkey), feminist scholars and educationalists each adding valuable ethical guidance to this exciting project.
A small team committed to building technology with care.
